Wellington, Wairarapa & Taranaki

Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, this city is also the capital of sophistication and style. It’s a real hub for art or theatre lovers alike and for eating out, Wellington has more restaurants and cafés per head of population than New York City  … now that is saying something!

On a sunny day Wellington’s charms are irresistible.  The vista from the top Mt Victoria sweeps the harbour and the central business district.   A stroll along the waterfront is picture perfect and many of Wellington’s attractions are within walking distance as the city is quite compact.

Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand is centrally located … it’s a stunner on the outside and it’s packed with this nation’s history and treasures.  Or you can ride a cable car up to the botanical gardens for more top views of this compact city.

Sheltered harbour side locations make ideal settings for outdoor eating and your bound to spot the ferry toing and froing between the north and south islands.

By night Wellington is electric. For restaurants, live performances and clubbing … downtown is where you’ll want to be.

This compact harbour city is a great jump off point to some amazing destinations such as the home are of Art Deco, Napier located in the North Island, the Hawkes Bay known for it wine and produce or the Napa Valley of New Zealand Marlborough located at the top of the South Island and accessible by a Ferry ride if driving or a 20 minute flight.

Where-else can you stroll from your hotel, to dinner, to a show, to the galleries and take in cafes and world class shopping along the way.

We suggest 1.5 days here if going to the South Island or staying in the North Island.
